Regular Resident

  • Proof of VT residency
  • Valid Vermont snowmobile registration
  • Snowmobile is less than 15-years old
VAST definition of . . .

Resident:

A Vermont resident is anyone that lives more than six months a year in Vermont, receives their mail in Vermont and holds a valid Vermont driver’s license.

A resident must present a valid copy of their Vermont Resident snowmobile registration to show proof of registration and ownership in order to buy a Resident TMA.

To qualify for a Resident Family TMA you first must purchase

Two TMA's at  $80 or at VOLUNTEER rate if applicable

Resident Family

Resident Family

  • Proof of purchase of two TMA's at the REGULAR (either early bird $80 or regular season $105 fee) or VOLUNTEER categories only
  • A Classic TMA does not apply
  • Record first two purchased TMA numbers in space provided on application form(s) of Family TMA(s) sold
  • All snowmobiles must be registered to the same name & address
  • Valid Vermont snowmobile registration
  • Family TMA's do not have to be purchased at the same time as the Regular TMA's, however proof of purchase must be shown

Two TMA's at  $105 or at VOLUNTEER rate if applicable

Non-Resident Landowner

Non-Resident Property Owner

A non-resident who owns property and pays Vermont Property Tax in Vermont is eligible to purchase a Resident TMA for snowmobiles owned and registered in their names. Prior to issuing a resident decal, they must provide the following:

Copy of their current Vermont tax bill.

Copy of their current Vermont snowmobile registration.

Non-Resident

  • Not a resident of Vermont or a Vermont resident that elects to register their snowmobile in another state, not Vermont, must purchase a Non-Resident TMA
  • Valid copy of current out-of-state snowmobile registration or valid copy of a non-resident Vermont snowmobile registration

Non-Resident

Anyone that is not a resident of Vermont or a Vermont resident that elects to register their snowmobile in another state, not Vermont, must purchase a Non-Resident TMA. The following must be provided:

Valid copy of their current snowmobile registration, state or provincial, or,

Valid copy of a Non-Resident Vermont snowmobile registration.

  • Valid copy of current out-of-state snowmobile registration or valid copy of a non-resident Vermont snowmobile registration

  • At the beginning of the current season,Volunteers are identified by the North Country Mountaineers for their prior year service
  • The Volunteer TMA's are only sold through Sherry Bradley at Casella's
  • Current snowmobile registration

Valid for lost TMA or if snowmobile is sold or traded

TMA Replacement

  • Original TMA must have been purchased through the North Country Mountaineers
  • Old paperwork (the hard copy of the TMA form and part or all of the sticker from the sled) must be attached to new application form
  • Without proof of the "old documents" a new sticker must be purchased at full price
  • Record the old TMA number being replaced in the TMA replacement section of the new application form
  • If upgrading TMA from Classic to a Regular TMA, the difference in cost between the Classic TMA and the regular TMA should be added to the $5 replacement fee and that total shown on the TMA Replacement line

FYI!

What happens if I lose my TMA sticker?
According to VAST policy, set by the Board of Directors, if you lose your TMA sticker you need to go back to the club in which you purchased the TMA. You need to have your hard copy of the TMA form to turn in so you will get a new sticker. There is a $5.00 replacement fee. If you lose both the sticker and the form, according to VAST policy, you will need to purchase a new sticker at the full price.

What happens if I sell or trade-in my snowmobile?
According to VAST policy, set by the Board of Directors, if you sell or trade-in your snowmobile, you need to go back to the club in which you purchased the TMA. You need to have your hard copy of the TMA form and part or all of the sticker from the sled you are selling to return to the club so you will get a new sticker. There is a $5.00 replacement fee. If you lose both the sticker and the form, according to VAST policy, you will need to purchase a new sticker at the full price.


What if I purchase a classic TMA and later on I buy a new snowmobile, can I transfer my Classic TMA?
Yes, you can, but you must pay the difference between the price that you paid for your Classic TMA and the cost of the Regular TMA at the time that you purchase the Regular TMA.
